Effective July 1, the price of trash stickers is now $4.00 per sticker and yellow is the new sticker color. The price increase is to cover the increased costs in the Town of Northport’s new contract for hauling household trash.
The blue stickers from last year are no longer valid. You can either trade in your blue stickers at the Northport Town Office and pay an additional $1.00 for the new yellow stickers, or pay the difference with a check at the Transfer Station.
Watch Bag Capacity
The trash bag capacity limit per yellow sticker is 33 gallons. If your bags are more than the 33 gallon limit, you will need to use two yellow stickers per over-capacity bag.
The trash contractor will not pick up bags larger than 33 gallons that have only one yellow sticker.
