The Town of Northport recently experienced a glitch with the software that is used for tax payments. As a result, mailing the 2024 real estate tax bills has been delayed and it’s not clear yet when the bills will be mailed. We anticipate learning soon when the bills will be mailed and will update you accordingly.
As is the case each year, payment of Northport Village Corporation 2024 real estate taxes is due on September 1. And in a typical year, interest is charged on payments made after September 1. However, because of the software glitch this year (and resulting mailing delay), interest will be charged on the 31st day after the postmark on the bill you receive.
Here are two suggested ways to cope with this issue:
- When you receive your tax bill, payment of which is due on September 1, please note that interest will be assessed beginning on the 31st day after the postmark on the bill.
- Alternatively, to assure that your real estate tax payment is received by September 1, you may consult the NVC 2024 Tax Commitment Book to learn the amount of your bill listed there, and send in your payment before receiving your tax bill through the mail. See the 2024 Tax Commitment Book here.
NOTE: Checks should be made out to Northport Village Corporation and mailed to:
